This photo progression shows the salt marsh that lies north of Guilford Point, between the West and East Rivers, being filled in and developed with homes. Land loss can also be seen on the eastern bank of the West River, just west of the marsh. The data show that the area registers one of the larger net losses of land along the Connecticut coast.
