Tracking the Asian Tiger Mosquito population, by year
Asian Tiger Mosquitoes are generally found in the tropics. They first turned up in Connecticut’s state-wide traps in 2006. Their population peaked in 2012 and 2013 after two mild winters. Scientists are concerned that climate change may bring warmer temperatures and more mosquitoes along with the serious diseases they carry – Chikungunya virus and Dengue fever.
