Stamford’s 2030 District encompasses the city’s core downtown area. Nearly two-dozen building owners representing about 2.5 million square feet of commercial space have signed on, but organizers don’t really know how many buildings or how much total office space there is in the district. The object of a 2030 District is to reduce energy use and emissions in the district 50 percent by 2030 through a totally voluntary effort.
